Code of conduct
Our guidelines
for players and parents
Players are expected to take pride in representing the club and be on their best behaviour when wearing the club's kit. Parents too, are expected to model the right behaviours. This is especially important on match days where we encourage you all to get behind our players and help them feel confident. It is easy to slip from voicing encouragement into attempting to coach the players out on the pitch, but please try to resist that. You will also see a ‘Respect’ line along the side of the pitch that you are not permitted to cross and so we ask that you cheer the teams on from behind the line please.
Players
Act with respect and fair play towards teammates, coaches, referees, match officials, opponents and spectators.
Abide by the instructions of your team manager/coach and club officials.
Communicate with fellow players, coaches and officials in a respectful and appropriate way at all times, including in person, by phone, and through electronic messages or social media.
Always respect the decisions of the referee and match officials.
Support and encourage your teammates on and off the pitch.
Parents and spectators (Junior and youth teams)
Maintain the club's good reputation for fairness and respect at all times. The behaviour of parents and spectators reflects directly on the club.
Remain behind the “respect line” during matches and do not view the match from behind the goals.
Refrain from appealing to the referee for throw-ins, fouls, corners, offsides, etc.
Show respect to coaches and communicate with them in a measured, respectful and appropriate manner.
Do not “coach” players from the sidelines during matches. Instructions will be given by the team manager/coach.
Provide positive support and encouragement to all players on the pitch.
